เรื่องราวของหุ่นยนต์จักรกลสังหาร ที่ถูกสร้างขึ้นมาเหมือนกับมนุษย์ ซ่าล่า คอนเนอร์ถูกตามล่าจากตำรวจ ในข้อหาฆ่าคนตายเพราะเธอต้องฆ่าทุกคน ที่คิดจะสร้างหุ่นยนต์เธอยังมีลูกชาย ชื่อ จอร์น คอนเนอร์ ที่ต้องย้ายโรงเรียนบ่อยๆเพื่อหลบหนีบางสิ่ง เธอต้องปกป้องลูกชายของเธอจากหุ่นยนต์ที่มาจากโลกอนาคต ซึ่งถูกโปรแกรมมาเพื่อฆ่าจอร์นคอนเนอร์ เพราะกลัวว่าอนาคตจอร์นคอนเนอร ์จะเป็นผู้นำที่จะต่อต้านเครื่องจักรกลสังหารในอนาคต แต่แล้วจอร์นก็เจอกับเครื่องจักรกลสังหาร ในขณะที่เรียนหนังสือเขาถูกไล่ยิง เขาต้องเอาชีวิตรอด แต่แล้วเพื่อนหญิงคนใหม่ของจอร์น ก็กลายเป็นหุ่นยนต์ที่ถูกส่งมาช่วยจอร์นได้ทันเวลา พวกเขาจะหนีการตามล่าครั้งนี้ได้หรือไม่
